Our Story
SD Remodel Experts was founded by Rafael Ramos with a straightforward goal: build the kind of remodeling company he would want to hire. One that communicates clearly, shows up on time, executes with precision, and takes full ownership of the project from design through final walkthrough.
Based in San Diego and operating throughout the region since 2015, the company has grown from a focused kitchen and bathroom operation into a full design-build firm with in-house cabinet manufacturing, a design showroom in Sorrento Valley, and a team of experienced tradespeople and project coordinators.
SD Remodel Experts holds California Contractors State License Board license CSLB #1061681, is fully insured, and operates with active workers' compensation coverage on every project.

Rafael Ramos

Rafael Ramos is the founder and owner of SD Remodel Experts. He manages every project personally — from the initial design consultation and estimate through construction and final inspection. Clients work directly with Rafael, not a rotating cast of salespeople or subcontractors they've never met.
Rafael brings over a decade of hands-on experience in residential remodeling, custom cabinetry, and design-build project management. He understands construction sequencing, material lead times, subcontractor coordination, and the kinds of field conditions that rarely show up in a set of plans — and he builds realistic schedules and scopes that reflect that experience.
He is fluent in English and Portuguese.

We operate a full kitchen and bath design showroom at 7424 Trade St, San Diego, CA 92121 — in Sorrento Valley, easily accessible from I-805 and I-5.
The showroom features a fully built-out kitchen display with custom cabinetry, countertops, and Fisher & Paykel appliance integration; a complete bathroom installation with large-format slab stone and specialty tile; a full cabinet finish library; and a curated sample collection of MSI tile, countertop slabs, flooring, and Snyder Diamond fixtures.
Every project starts with a showroom visit and a free design consultation.
