Project Overview
Atlantic Aviation, one of the premier Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) in Southern California, engaged SD Remodel Experts to completely refresh the interior of their terminal facility at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad.
The goal was to modernize the space while maintaining the professional, welcoming atmosphere that private aviation clients expect. Every material selection was made with durability, aesthetics, and low maintenance in mind — critical requirements for a busy commercial aviation environment.
The project encompassed the reception area, main hallway, pilot lounge, and coffee room — a complete transformation from floor to ceiling.

Existing granite was removed and replaced with MSI Quartz surfaces at the front desk and lounge areas. Non-porous, stain-resistant, and maintenance-free — the perfect upgrade for a client-facing environment.

Worn commercial carpet throughout the terminal space was fully removed and replaced with new commercial-grade carpet, restoring a fresh, polished appearance underfoot.

Meoded Lime Plaster
Wainscot
The hallway presented a unique design challenge: create a high-end, durable finish that could withstand constant traffic while elevating the terminal's aesthetic. The solution was Meoded Lime Plaster applied in a classic wainscot pattern on the lower half of the walls.
Meoded's authentic lime-based plaster is hand-applied and burnished, producing a depth of texture impossible to replicate with conventional paint. Its naturally hard finish resists scuffs and marks — critical for a busy airport corridor.
Pilot Lounge &
Coffee Room
The pilot lounge and coffee room received a comprehensive refresh: new carpet replaced worn flooring, designer wallcovering brought warmth to the walls, and the countertop was upgraded to durable MSI Quartz.
The result is a comfortable, modern respite for pilots and aviation crews — a space that reflects the premium experience Atlantic Aviation is known for.
